We founded Aktiv Learning in 2016 to bring active learning to STEM courses nationwide and break down the notoriously high learning barrier that exists for countless students in these disciplines. Nearly five years later, I’m happy to report our mission has already made incredible progress. Our first product, Aktiv Chemistry, is currently adopted by instructors from over 600 colleges and universities and is used to engage students both during and after class — in-person, online, and in hybrid formats. The response has been phenomenal.
Today, I am proud to announce the next phase of Aktiv Learning’s mission with the completion of a $4.6 million Series A financing round led by Recurring Capital Partners.
What does this mean for the chemical education community and courses relying on our platform?
Thanks to the support of Recurring Capital and many of our existing investors, we will be introducing some exciting new changes that will benefit instructors, students, and courses during this next phase of Aktiv Learning’s growth:
1. An even more powerful learning platform
For years, instructors and students alike have loved the ease of use, broad range of use cases, and power of Aktiv Chemistry’s active learning platform. This funding means many more upcoming features, and we will be specifically enhancing the platform’s flexibility, security, and accessibility overall.
2. New courses are on the way
Not only will we be launching a new chemistry course later this month, but we’re also hard at work on our first new STEM course outside of chemistry. Stay tuned for more updates!
3. Doubling down on our community
While we work to get new courses and tools into the hands of more students and instructors, our commitment to investing in our industry-leading support is stronger than ever. Our users can continue to expect fast response times and personalized support for every course. We are also more committed than ever to highlighting the success and activities of our instructors and faculty.
